Cloud Nine - My Block for Moda Blockheads 6

I'm so honored to be part of Moda's Blockheads again this year. The blocks have been so  beautiful. If you haven't started yet, it's not too late! Each block is designed by a different Moda designer and they're all uniquely fabulous. You can pick a color theme of your own or follow the fabrics chosen by the block designer to create a wonderful variety.

For my block, Cloud Nine, I've used my newest Shibori design collection, Winter Chill. I'm very, very pleased with how these designs translated to fabric. Each one evokes the coziness of a Winter day yet works perfectly for any season of the year, too.

I really enjoyed working with Winter Chill for my Blockheads block! I chose a mixture of values to capture all the joy of a Winter's day and the wonderful cloudy skies of that season. I created gentle movement in the pieced shapes for a dreamy feeling. Like you're drifting on a fluffy, comfy cloud!

The Cloud Nine Block combines flying geese and a 4 patch with the serenity of tradition and simplicity. You'll create four units that each contain a corner square for the center 4 patch. The unit above is the Upper Left.

I hope you have as much fun making Cloud Nine as I did!  Look for my Winter Chill collection at your local quilt store or order from my web site by clicking here. You'll find everything you need to know about my block on the Blockheads Facebook group or the Blockheads category on the Moda Fabrics site.
