Meet Amy Barickman & a Giveaway

I have great news for you today about a giveaway from Amy Barickman Studio that includes patterns designed by Amy plus fabric from my Yukata and Kawa lines for Moda Fabrics!

Meet Amy Barickman

I’ve known Amy for many years and always love what she does with my fabrics. We’ve enjoyed meeting up at events like QuiltCon and Quilt Market. You can see above we both just happened to be wearing fabrics from my Moda Fabrics collections!

If Amy looks familiar, it's because she has been in the sewing and design business for a long time. Many of you will remember her as the founder of Indygo Junction patterns. Her current creative endeavors are Amy Barickman Studio and Vintage Modern Makers. She’s designing beautiful new patterns, like the Anytime Topper shown above and also offers wonderful online DIY Courses about vintage sewing, notions and fabrics.

When I sent Amy pieces of my Yukata and Kawa fabrics, she was immediately excited about their possibilities for her new patterns, Fold and Go Folio and Anytime Topper. She was very creative with my fabrics and I think they turned out great!

This long version of Amy’s Anytime Topper pattern is just amazing and I love how it turned out. It’s such a versatile pattern and can be dressed up or worn casually. It would be beautiful sewn up in any of my Shibori fabrics.

Although we often think of my Moda Fabrics collections for quilting, you can see how perfect they are for garments and other projects. Amy loves the outdoors and, since Kawa means river, she photographed this Fold and Go Folio while out in her kayak on the Torch River in Michigan. I think it's just beautiful stitched up in my Kawa collection! The Folio is a very versatile pattern and is perfect for carrying your sewing supplies, jewelry or sunglasses as you see here.

I mentioned Amy’s Vintage Modern Makers and the online courses she offers. One of those courses is about the history and uses of Pearl Buttons. I love this pairing of Pearl buttons on this Anytime Topper made from my Yukata collection fabrics. Since Yukata was inspired by vintage Japanese textiles, it's the perfect pairing!
