Moda Block Heads 4 - Block 22 and a Couple More!
The catch-up block making is really on a roll now! This week I have Block #22 for you and two of the past blocks, too. And, they're each stitched in two of my collections. Yukata, released in Spring 2022 and Kawa, shipping in September 2022 - next month!
This week's block, Star Patch, was designed by Sherri McConnell. I love the way it looks in semi-neutral tones from my Yukata collection (available right here).
And, then in Kawa! The sharp contrasts are amazing and Sherri's block looks so different with these values. Time to make your own now! You'll find instructions on Sherri's blog by clicking here. For more of Sherri's wonderful quilting and designing, follow her on Instagram - @aquiltinglife.
So, let's back up a little now and visit some catch-up blocks. This is Block 14, Bird on a Branch designed by Jan Patek. It's a delightful example of the joy of applique and my Yukata collection made a very sweet block with the perfect branch fabric!
The Kawa version features colors that are a little more stylized and very cheery. I'm thrilled with both of them! Click here for instructions for Jan's block. For more quilting inspiration, follow Jan Patek on Instagram @jan_patek_quilts
My last catch-up for this week is Block 15, designed by Crystal Manning. Highland Plaid is a great opportunity for combining prints and colors. In Yukata, it takes on a striking, yet subtle appearance that I love.
But, in Kawa, Highland Plaid becomes a bold contrast of Indigo and creamy white. So different and equally as striking as the Yukata version in it's own way! To create your own, click here to access the instructions on Crystal's blog. And, be sure to follow Crystal Manning on Instagram for more piecing beauty @cmanningsews
As I've mentioned my newest collection, Kawa, will be shipping to stores next month - September 2022. Click here to start a list of your favorites and be sure to let your local quilt shop know you're looking forward to purchasing Kawa from them!
While you're waiting, you can stitch up some of your own beautiful Shibori blocks from my Yukata collection, available on my web site by clicking here. You'll find plenty of Indigo joy on there!
