Sew Much Fun at the Moda Fabrics and Martingale Retreat

The 2022 Moda Fabrics and Martingale Retreat was held at “The Gathering” which is part of Lisa Bongean’s beautiful Primitive Gatherings campus. It includes Lisa's quilt shop, office, video studio, warehouse, and a dye area. This was a very special event this year since we haven't been able to meet for three years!

I spent two weeks all together with Lisa and her team and taught Shibori Indigo dyeing during one of those weeks. The shop's doors, above, lead to all kinds of fabulous quilting delights! Click here to visit Primitive Gatherings online.

My room for the retreat was wonderful and included a sweet hexie quilt, a comfy bed and a charming rustic headboard.

This gift pack was a warm welcome from Primitive Gatherings! "Nothing Haunts us Like the FABRIC We Didn't Buy." So true!

There were gifts from other Moda retreaters, too. I especially loved this clever, useful, little quilted zip pouch stitched in my new Kawa collection. Kawa will be shipping to quilt shops this month!

Part of the fun and inspiration were the Make-n-Take projects we made. Isn't this scissor fob cute with it's adorable bird charm?!

This is the wonderful group from the retreat. All of these ladies and gentlemen are from Moda Fabrics and Martingale Publishing. Did you know that Martingale, located in Bothell WA, is owned by it's employees?

Lisa Bongean interviewed several of us for her Stitch YouTube channel. Click here to watch the video. You'll enjoy it! And, while you're there, be sure to subscribe to Lisa's channel.

I just had to purchase this mug. You can see why! It seems very appropriate with my copy of the group photo and a piece of Shibori fabric.

One of the highlights of the week was visiting Lisa Bongean's home on the lake and making S'mores. It's such a beautiful setting!

And, here's that gorgeous sunset you caught a glimpse of above. It was the perfect ending to a very perfect day.

I really enjoyed getting to know some of the staff from Martingale and I feel so privileged to be part of the team of Moda Fabrics designers! If you'd like to know more about Moda Fabrics, click here. And, if you're not familiar with Martingale Publishing, click here
